During Women’s month 2022, LionLife identified a problem many young learners face, namely staying out of school due to it being that time of the month and not having the funds to buy the necessary sanitary pads. As more girls miss school while menstruating, it is more difficult for them to learn.
In an effort to alleviate this burning problem, sanitary pads were distributed to young women in Western Cape and Eastern Cape schools. Even though this is just a drop in the ocean, we at LionLife believe that this small gesture has made a difference in the lives of many, empowering them to attend classes when they previously were forced to stay home.
